We successfully completed our first camping trip. We drove out to Rock Cut State Park and let nature take over, with the Rojas, Grace, Sanchez, and Raul families rounding out our group. Ava is clearly meant to be outdoors — she played hard, ate hard, and slept hard. We hiked, grilled, played at the park, waited out a short rain storm, made s’mores, laughed a ton, and Ava picked up a couple of new owies along the way. It was non-stop fun, and she slept better in that tent than she ever has anywhere. It made Christine and me realize just how much energy this kid needs to burn before she’ll actually pass out.
