Over Labor Day weekend, we drove down to St. Louis, Ava’s first long road trip. She was a natural traveler, sleeping and playing the whole way and never once crying or fussing. Mama and dada took turns sitting in the back with her, which definitely helped. We spent time with Aunt Betsy, Uncle Tim, and cousins Dola, Miranda, Evan, Erin, Amani, and Jasmine. Erin even made an amazing cake for my birthday, it was incredible! It was an extremely hot weekend, but we were all troopers and spent plenty of time outside anyway. Fishing, train rides, jumping on the trampoline, and family walks were just a few of the things we enjoyed. We also got to enjoy a proper grill Sunday, Ava loved Aunt Betsy’s chicken so much that we’ve made it twice since getting home. We’re already planning to make this an annual family trip.
