SLC Winter Fun and Moab!
Almost three weeks of winter fun in Salt Lake City with Grandma and Grandpa, with a road trip down to Moab in the middle. Daily family hikes, snowy walks, the zoo, farm animals, and the hike to Delicate Arch. One of our favorite trips with the girls!
Salt Lake City
Snowy Walks & Feeding the Chickens
We kicked off almost three weeks in Salt Lake City with snowy walks around the neighborhood with Grandpa and the dogs. Ava has loved being around all the animals here, and feeding the chickens each morning became her special little job.

Hiking H Rock & the Foothills
The weather was perfect and we went on a family hike almost every day. We hiked H Rock as a family, with Harlow riding happily in the carrier and Ava marching along in her pink owl hat. These Utah trails at sunset are hard to beat.

Waterfall Hike & Hogle Zoo
A waterfall hike with Grandma and Grandpa, then a morning at Hogle Zoo and the Discovery Gateway children’s museum. Ava drove the helicopter and cooked up a storm in the play kitchen.

Horses, Goats & Farm Fun
Pony rides, feeding the goats and petting the big horses at the farm. Ava could not get enough.

More Hikes with Grandma & Grandpa
Grandma and Grandpa are amazing hikers. More trails, more sunsets and a trip back up to the big H with the whole crew.

Moab
Red Cliffs & the Colorado River
Then we drove down to Moab. Blue sky and red rock everywhere. We stayed at the Red Cliffs Lodge right on the Colorado River, and Ava spent hours throwing rocks into the river.

Delicate Arch
We hiked up to Delicate Arch, about 1.5 hours round trip. I carried Ava on my back the whole climb while she took a nap, and Christine carried Harlow. The view when we arrived at the arch was one we will always remember!

Red Cliffs Lodge
Breakfast by the river, playing in the teepee and on the old covered wagons, and lounging on the lawn with the red cliffs all around us.

Back in Salt Lake
Back in Salt Lake
One more day of feeding the ducks and geese at the pond and playing at the park before heading home to Chicago.
