Papa’s Memorial at The Rock 4-25-26

Today we gathered to celebrate and remember my dad, our beloved Papa. It was only fitting that we held his memorial at The Rocks in Evanston, a place where Betsy and I shared so many Saturday mornings eating donuts with him over the years. It brought back so many memories of simple conversations, laughter, and time together that never seemed like it would one day become so meaningful.

We also had the chance to spend an extra day with some Pita Inn, enjoying time together around downtown Evanston. Walking the streets, visiting familiar places, and simply being together made the weekend even more special. It reminded us how important it is to slow down and appreciate time with family.

The memorial was exactly what Papa would have wanted. We celebrated his life surrounded by close family while enjoying The Rock’s incredible corned beef, pastrami, lavosh crackers, cheese, and a little wine. It wasn’t about mourning a loss as much as it was about sharing stories, laughter, and remembering the countless moments that made him so special.

Dad taught us the importance of family, kindness, hard work, and appreciating the little things in life. Looking around the room, it was easy to see the impact he had on so many people and how those values continue to live on through all of us.

Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate his life and share in the memories. It meant more than you know.

Cheers to you, Papa. We miss you every day, but we’ll keep telling your stories, laughing at your jokes, and carrying your memory with us always. ❤️🥂
