Ava loves copying what we do from coughing to rubbing our noses. She started copying Christine yawning and now she is our little actress and does a good job fake yawning when asked.
45 and Sunny
It’s happened…Chicago finally had pleasant weather today. We took full advantage. It has been a long, cold and wet winter. Come on Spring!
Family Day
Had a nice day that started with brunch at The Bongo Room followed by the Swedish Museum. We ended up the day with dinner with Grandpa at Scoozi. We all love Sundays.
Happy Valentine’s Day
We had a nice 2nd Valentine’s Day celebrating with our Angel. Last year was sushi at Sai Cafe and this year we went to Prasino at 5pm. It was a little fancier than expected but we had a nice time and Ava enjoyed checking out the fire place and people watching.
Teddy Bear’s Picnic
Today’s Valentine’s Day. Ava and I went to the Emerald City Theatre to watch the Teddy Bear’s Picnic. She went right up to the bear and kissed it! This one is it shy! She kept trying to interact with the bear, so I had to hold her back. She makes me laugh!
Juice Box Music
Ava and I jumped on the Blue Line train to the Chicago Cultural Center. They played live African music and had a dancer moving to the beats. The venue was breathe taking and the music was right up our alley!
Amy’s Birthday Weekend in Madison
We celebrated Amy’s 32nd birthday in Madison. We went to the Children’s Museum, dinner, brunch and hung out at the house. I think Hoober has the most fun!
Mr. Singer
Another frigid day in Chicago means more indoor fun! Our Wed. date with Francine was at Lincoln Park Zoo to watch Mr. Singer. Ava danced, tried stealing snacks from others and had an all around nice afternoon.
Hoober Getting Some Love
Hoober got some serious love tonight from his girls. Hoober and Ava continue to grow closer and momma continues to tolerate him a little more each day.
Fun Friend Friday
Ava had a fun day with friend. She started with a play date at Northbrook Court with Kennedy and Charlie. Friday night she got to hang with Raine and Gabe. Ava loves spending time with friends and always has plenty of hugs and kisses.
Free Concert at Whole Foods
Ava loves people and live music. Every Wed. and Thurs. Whole Foods offers a 30 minute live concert for kids. I don’t know if she loved the music or the kids more!
She went up to a few kids and tried to kiss them. So cute! She is very loving and sweet!
Museum of Science and Industry
Ava and I enjoyed the day at the museum with auntie Francine. We try to get together every Wed. for an outing. The city offers free days to every museum each month and are taking full advantage!
Surprise!
Dave surprised me and Ava today at the Sod Room. We decided to venture out to a new indoor playroom. These frigid winter days are getting old!
Hip Hop Jacobs
Ava has always loved listening to Dada beat box and now that she is a little older she has started dancing and moving each and every time Dada starts.
Ava’s Favorite Song
While Christine and Ava were in SLC for Christmas Holiday, the spent some time with Grandma at church practicing a routine for Christmas Day. Ava was around for most of the practice and she picked up on the routine and fell in love with the song. Whenever we play the song, she immediately goes nuts and we love how she throws her hands over her head like she saw everyone doing during practice.
Kinetic Sand
Another day in cold, wet Chicago. We chased away the winter blues by making an indoor fort and played with kinetic sand.
Arctic Cold -20 Degrees
Today was the coldest day in 20 years in Chicago and Ava and Momma were pretty much trapped at home. We all made the best of it with plenty of indoor fun.
Indoor Play Fun in Sub-Zero Temp
It has been below zero here in Chicago and we are making the most of the time spent indoors. Grandpa in Salt Lake taught Ava to kick and we wanted to make sure she didn’t forget.
Fort Frosty in Park City,UT
This is one of the best places to go with your children! Ava had a ball tubing and being pulled around all afternoon. Dave and I were excited to see her enjoying the snow and the outdoors.
She had fun and we got a workout!
Ava’s Favorite Toy
Ava has spent more time with this box than any other toy. She nestles herself perfectly in it and likes to be pushed and pulled all over the house.
Good thing Grandpa attached a string to the box. Our backs were killing us!
