Memorial Day Weekend Grand Lake 2026
Memorial Day weekend 2026 in Grand Lake was one we’ll always remember. We kicked off the summer surrounded by beautiful mountain views, fresh air, and quality time together as a family. From relaxing by the lake and exploring town to enjoying great food and making new memories, it was the perfect reminder that it’s the simple moments spent together that mean the most.
We also took time to reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day, honoring the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Grand Lake’s patriotic spirit made the weekend even more meaningful. We’re grateful for the time together and already looking forward to our next adventure. ❤️🇺🇸🏔️
Sunset on the Lake
We rolled into Grand Lake on Saturday evening just in time for a milkshake in town and a gorgeous sunset on the dock.
Morning Hike
Sunday morning the lake was like glass. We took a family hike through the meadows with snowcapped peaks all around us.
Creek Crossings and Log Bridges
The girls had a blast balancing on the fallen logs and exploring the log jams along the creek.
Out on the Water
In the afternoon we got out on the lake by boat, then grabbed some homemade ice cream.
Overlook Views
We finished the afternoon taking in the views from a scenic overlook high above the lake.
Moose and Elk
On the drive back at dusk we spotted moose and a whole herd of elk grazing right by the road.
Memorial Day Parade
Monday morning we joined the town for the Memorial Day parade, honoring those who served, and wrapped up the trip with a big pizza lunch before heading home.
