Hawaii Summer 2021
We had planned a 10 year anniversary trip to the Big Island and plans changed a little and the girls joined us. We had a great trip with lots of beach time, pool time, hiking and good food and desserts. We love family trips and one day they will become more of a vacation =)
Aloha, Big Island!
We landed on the Big Island and went straight to the beach. Flowers in our hair, sandcastles, the pool and our first dinner under the stars.
Green Sand Beach
We took the Jeep down to the southern tip of the island and hiked out to Green Sand Beach. The sand really is green! The girls dug their hands in and played in the waves, then we finished the day with a sunset on the beach.
Seahorses & Snorkeling in Kona
Breakfast with a view, then a visit to a seahorse farm in Kona where the girls got to hold baby seahorses in their hands. Then it was masks on for some snorkeling.
Paddleboarding & Pololū Valley
A morning paddleboarding in the calm water, then we drove up north to Pololū Valley and hiked down to the black sand beach. Cartwheels and jumping in the waves, rope swings in the trees and “Jacobs Kona 2021” written in the sand.
Beach Day & Sunset on Mauna Kea
A big beach day with floaties and sandcastles, a beer flight and dessert, then we drove all the way up Mauna Kea to watch the sunset from above the clouds next to the observatories.
One Last Swim
One last morning in the water before heading home. Till Next Time, Mahalo!
