Brazil Winter Holiday 24/25
Amazing winter vacation! 🇧🇷 We spent two weeks over Christmas and New Year’s exploring Brazil, from Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf in Rio to beach towns, boat days and ringing in 2025 in white on the beach.
Olá, Rio!
We landed in Rio the day after Christmas and jumped right in: a pool with a view of the mountains, our first big Brazilian dinners and bike rides along the beach.

Christ the Redeemer
We made it up Corcovado to see Christ the Redeemer, arms out over the whole city. The views of Rio from up there are unreal.

Sugarloaf Mountain
Next up, the cable car to the top of Sugarloaf. Big smiles, bigger views, and a few balloons along the way.

Beach Days in Rio
Sun, waves and grilled corn on the beach. The girls could have stayed in the water all day.

Beach Town Life
We headed out of the city for a few days of beach-town living, with braids for the girls, fresh snacks and long walks on the sand.

More Sun and Sand
Umbrellas, sandcastles and lots of selfies. This is what a winter vacation should look like.

New Year’s Eve in White
In Brazil everyone wears white on New Year’s Eve for good luck, so we did too. We rang in 2025 on the beach under the fireworks. 🎆

New Year’s Day
We started 2025 the best way: back on the beach.

A Colonial Town
Cobblestone streets, white churches, colorful doors and a pool to cool off in. We loved exploring this charming little town.

Boat Day
We spent a day on a boat cruising through bright green water and tropical islands.

Jumping In
Off the side of the boat and into that unreal water, over and over again!

Hammocks and Seafood
Lunch by the water with hammocks to relax in, then one more stroll and a big family dinner.

Samba Show and the Selarón Steps
Back in Rio we caught an amazing samba show, then climbed the famous tiled Selarón Steps before heading home. What a trip!
