A Night in a Yurt Near Leadville

We had so much fun spending the night in a yurt near Leadville! ⛺ We hiked about a mile in to reach it—in the rain—but once we got settled in, the skies cleared up and we headed out for a beautiful hike through the meadows and pine forests, with the willows turning gold for fall.

The yurt itself was perched on a deck with an amazing view out over the valley and mountains. As the evening cooled off, Christine got the wood stove going and we stayed warm and cozy by the fire, eating dinner around the little table with the girls in their robes and pajamas. Bunk beds, a crackling fire and no screens—a perfect family night.

The next day we stopped in Leadville to visit Melanzana and pick up some of their famous sweatshirts—a must-do whenever you’re in town. Such a fun little mountain adventure! 🏔️
