We headed out to a BBQ cook-off in Navasota, and it doubled as an animal lover’s dream for Ava. She cuddled fluffy bunnies, fearlessly let a snake drape around her neck, and rode a pony across the field, grinning the whole time. Christine and I sampled the barbecue and shaved ice. A perfect small-town Texas day out together.
